When becoming new the Pasilla de Oaxaca cultivar has green stems, green leaves, and white blossoms that produces great yields of chiles that tighten from 1-1/2 at the top down to somewhat less than 1" at the base and are 4- 5 long. These chiles develop from green to a glossy dim chocolate earthy colored to profound ruddy mahogany in shading. All out development time is roughly 100 days.
