There’s a new breed of chicken in town! The Sasso chicken, parent stock imported directly from France and their hybrid chicks are perfectly suited to Zimbabwe as they are designed to leverage off the land eating grubs and grass. If they are able to free range you won’t have to supplement their feed much but they do equally well staying caged and fed chicken food. The hens are good layers and the cockerels are delicious eating. They are bigger than the standard chickens, more like road runners but with a lot more meat.
